Thronateeska Heritage Center is certified as sensory inclusive through KultureCity, a non-profit recognized nationwide for using its resources to revolutionize and effect change in the community for those with sensory-based needs, not just those with autism. Sensory sensitivities or challenges with sensory regulation are often experienced by individuals of all ages with autism, dementia, PTSD, and other similar conditions. Thronateeska Heritage Center is prepared to assist guests with sensory sensitivities, ensuring that they have the most comfortable and accommodating experience possible.

Thronateeska Heritage Center team members are trained by leading medical professionals on how to recognize visitors with sensory needs and how to handle a sensory overload situation.
Sensory Bags
Sensory bags, equipped with noise canceling headphones, fidget tools, verbal cue cards, and weighted lap pads are available to all guests at Thronateeska Heritage Center who may feel overwhelmed by the environment. Bags and items are sanitized after each use.
